I thank my God I was awake to be the first to thumb up this kind of ideologically innovative and involving podcasting initiated by Professor Oluwatoyin Falola. This conversation between Honorable Kojo Yankah,a dynamic author
Cultural activist,Ivory Tower founder and multitasking communication practitioner who has evidently shared the burden of the long overdue consciousness, awareness& knowledge & identity crisis about ourselves as Africans.W e are previously exposed to Western education across centuries of colonialism and should now be empowered with Pan – African values to kick start an endogenous Renaissance that will turn African history from grass stepped anyhow upon
to the grace for the good of all.
I m not surprised at his burning concern to be academic ally and politically involved to reset not only the way The West perceives ‘everything African as inferior, dependent sourced whereas this ought not to be were it not for the predominantly foreign media –
structures and colonial history.
Despite Hon
Kojo responded to questions on the metamorphosis of political organizations like The OAU,African Union and the earliest impact roles played by the formidable personalities like W.E.B
Dubois,President Kwame Nkrumah before the cookies crumbled.
As I m modestly convinced in my blogging these days ,’politics controls everything’ inclusive of thousand of years back and I don’t think people & professionals who are aloof from politics or its trending should not think they can change the status quo nor benefit from any iota of development.
The podcast was very involving. It shouldn’t have qualified to be described more than a worthy ,timely dialogue between the versatile and ubiquitous host,Prof TF@ Austin,Texas & his guest Hon K.Y from Ghana but for involving the voice of Obinna,Sirah Dialo & Michele Smith who posed relevant questions for crucial answers regarding evolution of Pan Africanism and the need to discard the alien-mindset of African youths at home and abroad to challenge post colonial Africa in their literature and ideological shopping.
Merit of the Podcast:
21st century youths and academics, development workers ,journalists, bloggers and politicians of diverse talents tacitly concerned with seriously
Working on a Better Image for Africa & black people in Diaspora should look for intellectual ly honest champions of Decolonizing Africa in all ramifications of culture and international relations -GO FOR or Consult the likes of Professor Toyin Falola whose interest and historical endeavour are so wide and wealthy rooted in a people-love and bold personality from his teenage days back home in Nigeria
..Honourable Kojo Yankah
,a thorough-bred journalist, broadcast teacher, author, a politician and founder of a University College for Communications is set to majorly redeem lost glory and truthfulness about Africa & Black people s heritage and
the ‘Time -Is-Now’ Clarion call to set thing s straight and repackage Africa s products for interregional market.
This has been hitherto neglected.
Africans knowledge about herb s & tradition for local rule ,will be an asset for a good map to set out a better locally productive Africa– trade wise and in literati too.
It was a good thing jamming into this kind of Decolonizing podcast.
